In 1985 and 1986 the Big Apple Card Company made a series of pen and ink drawings sets. They are tricky to identify since they are unnumbered and most do not have any identifying information on the back, so without the checklist you are out of luck. The first set was an eight card set of just New York players.
In 1986, they once again made a set of New York players but also included a set of California players and another of top rookies.
The other set I believe they put out in 1986 has a blank back like most of the others, but it is printed on non-glossy blue paper instead of white glossy paper. The set depicts the NL and AL MVPs from 1975-1985. I have only visually confirmed three cards in the set and I do not have the checklist, but the source who sold me the three cards verified the content of the sets. My assumption is that this is a set by the Big Apple Card Company because of the style and size of the cards, but there is a chance that it is just a coincidence. Regardless, this is a rare set and there are many collectors of Ripken, Sandberg, Schmidt, Mattingly, etc., that do not have these in their collection.
