1986 Big Apple The Award Winners 'MVPs'
This 3x5 pen and ink 20 card set put out by the Big Apple Card Company, has a blank back like most of the others, but it is printed on non-glossy blue paper instead of white glossy paper. The set depicts the NL and AL MVPs from 1975-1985. I have only visually confirmed three cards in the set and I do not have the checklist, but the source who sold me the three cards verified the content of the set. This is the rarest of the Big Apple sets and if the cards are truly in existent, there are many collectors that do not have these in their collection. My assumption is that this is a set by the Big Apple Card Company because of the style and size of the cards, but there is a chance that these are just a coincidence.
1986 Big Apple California All-Stars
1986 Big Apple Mets/Yanks
1986 Big Apple Super Rookies
1986 Big Apple The Award Winners 'MVPs'
**Update: After 30 years, I finally acquired a set. It's pretty amazing to me to see most of the cards from a1986 set for the first time, but I am a pretty big card nerd. I had no idea the NL were blue and the AL were red.
