1988 Score Young Superstars Non-Gloss Variation
The story on these is that Score dropped these sheets off at a printer to test applying the gloss to the front of the cards. Score did not like the results and cut up the remaining sheets on the pallet, but not before the owner set some aside for his friend who was a collector.
After getting these in hand I tend to believe the story. Regardless, these definitely do not have a gloss and it is easy to tell by look (tilting back and forth reflects light) and the feel is smooth. The difference between the matte and glossy finish is exactly like 1984-91 Topps Tiffany and the regular issues.I also added a few scans of the edges of the sheet where you can see the hand written text, "HPM 1st Run", the colors CYAN, YELO1 and BLACKII and the text "S Run". The only other thing that seems different is that the colors on the front seem a little more vibrant than the glossy versions I have.
